World Series Game Two Recap

October 28, 2010

Wow.  Just…wow.  The Giants pummeled the Rangers tonight to a final score of 9-0.  Matt Cain pitched 7.2 innings, allowing four hits, and striking out and walking two.  He finished with a WPA of .468.  Offensively, Edgar Renteria led the pack with a 2-4 showing, with a home run and a WPA of .131.  His home run in the fifth with one out increased the Giants’ win expectancy from 53.5% to an astounding 69.7%.

That looks beautiful, doesn’t it?  Also…not to get your hopes up, but according to Chris Jaffe, it looks like about 78% of all teams that have started 2-0 in the World Series have won it all.  Just sayin’.

The atmosphere at the game was just electric. Willie Mays Park was rocking harder than I can ever recall. Just an all-around awesome experience.
