NLCS, Game Three
The graph pretty much explains it all:
The biggest moments in the game came with (unsurprisingly) Cody Ross’ liner to left in the bottom of the fourth with two out, which increased the Giants’ win expectancy from 55.1% to 69.5%. Aubrey Huff followed with a single to right field to score Pat Burrell, which increased their WE to 79.9%, which was all the run support Matt Cain and the Giants’ staff needed. Cain was no slouch today, pitching seven strong innings with three walks, five strikeouts and only two hits- both fliners (somewhere in between a line drive and a fly ball).
The Giants’ rookie phenom Madison Bumgarner takes on former Athletic Joe Blanton tomorrow at 4:30. Let’s pray Mr. Ross continues his tear and Bumgarner continues to pitch well.
