Game Four Quick Recap

October 12, 2010

Wow.  Just…wow.  Talk about a lovely game.  The Giants’ 21-year-old rookie Madison Bumgarner allowed two earned runs over six innings, striking out five and walking one, and Cody “I’m here only because the Giants didn’t want me going to the Padres” Ross clubbed a home run that was the difference-maker.  Ross wound up with a .289 WPA, and I’m beginning to wonder if the Giants’ brass will begin considering tendering him a contract this offseason (I was unsure of this before, when Bochy seemed to favor Jose Guillen over Ross seemingly every single frickin’ day).  Anyways, the WPA graph:

Well boys, we’re off to the NLCS!  The last time we made it all the way there was in…2002.  And we all know what happened that year.  Let’s pray that the outcome is in our favor this time.
